Yahoo Axis Extension Leaks Private Certificate
Coming from Yahoo, this doesn’t surprise me. Surely most the good developers are long gone.

Razor Blade
There’s a new computer worth a look at today, and it isn’t the new iPad.

Anandtech has published their review of the Razor Blade gaming laptop, and it’s some laptop.
The Razor Blade redefines the gaming laptop category, but comparisons will be made to it’s contemporaries, prime examples being the Alienware M17x and M18x which shares a similar price to the Blade. Apart from the shameful lack of a SSD, the Razor Blade’s specification pales in comparison to these monster laptops. It has less processor cores and slower graphics than anything near it’s price, so yet how does it become the most desirable gaming laptop to date?
Personally I can’t see myself ever wanted to carry an Alienware M18x anywhere off my desk. Just thinking about the 5.41KG weight hurts my back, and in that case I may as well get a desktop. Razor has attempted to make a gaming laptop that’s really portable, not many 15”, let alone 17” laptops are lighter than 2.92kg. The Blade is a gaming laptop in the true sense of the phrase, you can actually use it on your lap and can carry it around without the shame that comes with shifting over 5KG of computer.
I think Razor has realised that being just another competitor producing gaming slabs that compete only on specification and price makes no sense; they will have razor (ha) thin margins and just be another player in the generic PC game. By creating their own sub-category of device, appealing to a reasonable niche of gamers who want an ultra-portable laptop that still has a good discrete GPU, they’re in their own market with no direct competition.
And I’ve not even mentioned the LCD keys or touchpad.
I’m glad there’s at least one PC manufacturer making something different and pulling it off. Perhaps its not all doom and gloom if you think outside the box.

"The Google I was passionate about was a technology company that empowered its employees to innovate. The Google I left was an advertising company with a single corporate-mandated focus. Technically I suppose Google has always been an advertising company, but for the better part of the last three years, it didn’t feel like one. Google was an ad company only in the sense that a good TV show is an ad company: having great content attracts advertisers."

"Why then did National Federation of the Blind choose to single out the leader in affordable out-of-the-box accessibility while celebrating Google’s tremendously sub-standard access?"
